Natasha Najar, PhD

Awareness. Resilience. Growth.

Natasha Najar PhDMy goal is to support you in finding clarity, building emotional balance, and feeling empowered. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore your story and help you move towards healing. Let’s work together to understand what you’re feeling, accept where you are, and build where you want to go.

ABOUT ME

Come as you are – It’s okay to not be okay.

You’re welcome to view my CV for more on my education, credentials, and training. What I most want you to know is that therapy with me is rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and care. I show up to meet you where you are — not with judgment or a fixed agenda, but with evidence-based tools, deep respect for your story, and a belief in your capacity to grow.

My approach is grounded in research-supported, trauma-informed practices and shaped by a commitment to creating a culturally safe, inclusive space. I honor the complex layers of identity, experience, and resilience that each client brings. Together, we create a space where you can reflect, explore, and build the insight and skills you need to move forward.

I believe change begins with self-awareness— learning to notice your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations with curiosity and compassion. I help clients develop the ability to observe inner experiences in a mindful, non-judgmental way, which creates space to respond more effectively to life’s challenges, rather than reacting automatically or from a place of discomfort.

In our work, we focus on three key areas:

  • Self-awareness – becoming attuned to how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact
  • Self-compassion and acceptance – responding to yourself with kindness, especially when things feel difficult
  • Skill-building and flexibility – learning strategies to regulate emotions, manage distress, and act in line with your values

I specialize in working with:

  • Depression disorders – including chronic low mood, loss of motivation, and self-critical patterns
  • Anxiety– including generalized anxiety, panic, and excessive worry
  • Life transitions – such as retirement, adjusting to illness or disability, and caregiver stress or burnout
  • Trauma recovery, including complex and developmental trauma
  • Emotional regulation difficulties, perfectionism, and self-criticism
  • Relationship challenges and boundary setting

My therapeutic work is informed by a range of trauma-informed and evidence-based models, including but not limited to:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)– helping reframe trauma-related beliefs
  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other Exposure Therapies
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)– practical skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)– building psychological flexibility and coping skills

Therapy with me is a place where you’re encouraged to slow down, reflect, and grow — not into someone else, but more fully into yourself. If you’re ready to begin, or simply curious about the process, I’d be honored to meet you there.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation call prior to scheduling. Both in-person and telehealth sessions are available. Telehealth sessions are offered via Simple Practice, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I am currently accepting new clients and offer both self-pay and insurance options. I accept most major insurance plans.

Land Acknowledgment

As a visitor to and steward of this land, I acknowledge that we are on the unceded, traditional homelands of the Pueblos of Sandia and Isleta and the Tiwa-speaking Peoples. I acknowledge the historical and contemporary presence and experiences of the original communities of New Mexico—the Pueblo peoples, the Navajo Nation, and the Apache Nations. The Indigenous communities continue to persist despite historical and ongoing experiences of racism and other forms oppression. I honor the enduring relationship that exists between the Indigenous community and their traditional lands and am committed to learning how to be a better steward of the land.
